Evergreen is
the seventh course I have designed for JN6. This is
an update of my JN5 version of the same course. It is
set in the mountainous region of western North Carolina
and features a good degree of elevation changes, an
abundance of large sand traps along with a few water
hazards. The fairways are wide open, which should be
quite beneficial since Rolling Evergreen features an
abundance of hazards to challenge the golfer. It requires
a high degree of shotplanning rather than length off
the tee as the course measures only around 6,800 yards
from the tips. More details on Rolling Evergreen can
be found in the text file that is included with the
course.

Updates
from the JN5 version of Rolling Evergreen
- New
texture set based mainly on the art I created for
Shoal Creek.
- Updated
the horizon art, mainly reworking the views of the
stone mountain so that it blends better with the course.
- Replaced
old stock trees from JN5 with some of the new stock
trees Scott Chesney and I created for JN6.
- Create
three new skies for the course.
- Tweaked
some of the custom objects. All of the custom objects
now have MIP maps.
- Included
parallel hole objects that improve the views on holes
3, 10, 16, and 17. Used a stock landscape panel to
improve the view behind the 12th hole.
- Added
four new WAV sounds, and replaced the old wind sound
with a new one.
- Reworked
the green some on the 2nd hole.
- Planted
a new tree and the end of the dogleg on the 4th to
discourage power driving.
- Planted
some new trees on the 5th hole and slightly reworked
the mounding for the bunker on the left side of the
fairway, along with tweaking the fairway shape itself.
- Reworked
the 14th hole by expanding the green and adding a
bunker to the back right.
An
updated version of the course was released on June 29th
that fixed the Parallel Hole Object collision problem
at the back of the 12th green.

that you will need WinZip or an equivalent decompression
utility to unzip the file(s).
The DOS utility PKUnzip will not work because of the
Windows 98/95 long filenames used.
